Ride Greinke
Zach Greinke is hot right now. He is coming off two complete game shutouts, one against Detroit and the other in Texas. Tonight he faces Toronto. The Blue Jays have cooled off a bit after their hot start. I’m taking the Royals tonight and sprinkling a bit on the under.
Betfair Trading: Yankees vs. Red Sox
Things didn’t work out for me in this one. I backed a big position on the Yankees and couldn’t trade out at a price to get me a profit. I really just want to forget about this one and move on. I’m hoping I can do better trading the Yankees vs. Red Sox game on [...]
Thankful For Pujols’ Legs
This is the position I traded myself into in this game. The Cardinals blew a 3-0 lead thanks in large part to Skip Schumaker dropping a routine fly ball. This is a less than desirable situation with the game tied. I tried to lay the Cardinals for 2.10 before they came to bat in the [...]
Penguins Set to Move On
Evgeni Malkin is leading the Penguins while leading the playoffs in points. Sidney Crosby has one less point than Malkin. The Penguins are looking strong, they are going to make another strong run at the Cup. First they must finish off the Flyers. In a previous post I predicted that the Penguins would take this [...]
Nova Scotia Reinvents the Wheel
I realize many of the readers of this blog are not from Canada. Those of you that are not may be the ones that find this especially funny. Sadly it is not a joke.
This is a story from Saturday’s Chronicle Herald:
Online Sports Betting in N.S.?
The funniest article I’ve come across on this matter is from [...]
Who Owns the Water?
Let’s see if we can get back on the winning track. I’m going to try going with another hot pitcher. Wednesday afternoon I like the Pittsburgh Pirates to beat the Florida Marlins. The Marlins have started hot, but so has Paul Maholm. Maholm is 2-0 so far this year in three starts, with an ERA [...]
Lowe of the Braves
I apologize for not posting in the past few days, I am away at the moment but will return home tomorrow.
I just wanted to make a quick post about the Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals game Monday night. Let’s face it, the Nationals are bad, their 1-10 record says it all. The Braves have gotten [...]
NHL Playoff Preview: San Jose vs. Anaheim
This is another top seed against an eight seed that I’m just not sure what to expect. You can make a case for each side in this series. They have split their six meetings this year. It is somewhat surprising that this is the first time these two teams have met in the post season. [...]
NHL Playoff Preview: Detroit vs. Columbus
This will be the Blue Jacket’s first appearance in the NHL playoffs. For Detroit, this year marks the 18th consecutive season that they are in the NHL’s post season. This is also the ninth straight season in which Detroit has gotten to 100 points in the regular season.
I think that this year’s version of [...]
NHL Playoff Preview: Chicago vs. Calgary
Chicago has owned Calgary this year winning all four games the two teams played. I think experience is something that is overrated, these kids on Chicago are ready to go and I’m expecting big things from them. The Mikka Kiprusoff matchup with Nikolai Khabibulin is a key in this series, as goaltending usually is in [...]
