Celtic Pride
It’s been a bit of a slow week for me trading bets on Betfair (for more information see the Betting Exchanges page). After last week earning over $4000, and earning over $2300 in each of the past four weeks I am slightly above even for this week. This time of the year the NFL is usually good for me to trade to make some money so I still have Sunday left to try to salvage the week. The low week is partially attributed to the blowout game between San Diego and Oakland Thursday.
I did manage to make a bit of money in the first half trading on the Boston Celtics/ Portland Trail Blazers NBA game this evening. The Celtics came out in the third quarter and took charge of the game. This team looks even better than last year when they topped the L.A. Lakers in the NBA Finals. The 19-2 Celtics look
like they will win 70+ games this year. What sets this team apart from other elite NBA teams, Cleveland Cavaliers (16-3) and the L.A. Lakers (16-2) is that the Celtics aren’t dependant on one superstar. If Kevin Garnett has an off night Paul Pierce and Ray Allen are there to pick up the slack. This is the reason I am more confident betting on the Celtics on a game that they are a huge favorite. For the Celtics to lose a game like this two or even all three of those players would have to have an off night, for the Lakers to lose a game like this it could just take Kobe Bryant to have an off night. Presently winning over 90% of their games and the trend looks to continue as the Celtics are playing great basketball, taking them for 1.20 odds all year, or for at least as long as they are playing well may indeed be an advantage bet.
