Chase the losses

After the loss on the previous NFL game (Atlanta vs. Minnesota) I had to make sure I got into a frame of mind where I was not going to chase my losses and take unnecessary risks while trading the Sunday night football game on Betfair. The Carolina Panthers battled but eventually lost to the New York Giants in overtime 34-28. For us NFL fans it was a treat to watch a great game, which could be a preview of the NFC Championship game.

Matt,

I really don’t have a record, what I do is trade bets on in play games on betfair. I try to buy at prices that are above value and sell them back to make a profit. I’ve added a link at the bottom of the comment to wikipedia’s definition of a betting exchange trader. I will continue to post about what I do and how I’m doing in this blog. I started on betfair in July ‘07 and have made just over $160 000 (Canadian) to date. I will be starting to post more about how I’m doing and allowing people to follow along with my progress.

If I do have a play I like I will post it here, for the most part I just do in play betting. I have built several databases, spreadsheets etc. with different theories in mind before I started on betfair. I plan on discussing those on this blog as well. One is a second half total spreadsheet you might be interested in. The only time I have traded on a NCAA basketball market is during the final four.

On the BETTING EXCHANGES page there is more information about betfair. Also, I will be starting to submit article to the betfair Canada blog, I will post about it sometime this week.

Not sure about your concept, how does a reg betor make out on your system? contact me Thanks

Rick,

My system is pretty simple. I take bets that I believe are above value and sell them back. My system relies heavily on my knowledge of the game, the situation and how the market has been reacting. Keep checking my posts as I will write about what I have learned on both sportsbooks and betting exchanges.
