Four Figure Loss
It goes just as easy as it comes. Last night I hauled in a four figure profit on the Celtics game just to lose it tonight on a Celtics game. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan, I just try to keep the losses to a minimum. This is the Celtics sixth loss in their past eight games losing to Houston 89-85. Unfortunately I was not alert enough to copy the exchange before it was settled as I was weeping due to my plus $1500 loss. You really can’t expect to win them all but for the most part my wins outweight my losses trading on Betfair

I find basketball as a sports where you can make a lot of money because I find there are more opportunities to find value than other sports. At the same time it is tougher to trade because it is so back and forth so you can lose lots of money too.
I would suggest to you that if you are planning on trading basketball in the playoffs that you watch the markets even though you aren’t betting and learn or play betfair’s play money site.
Good luck to you on your trading Dengel. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Ouch! Still, as long as you have the days which offset it then evrything is fine. Never nice to see a big loss, but it’s the long term which counts.
Exactly Grubber, that is exactly how I have to think when I take a loss like this. It is important not to try to win all that money back in one shot or do anything different than I normally would do.

Looks like you have the same things to watch out for in my industry, Stock Trading. I guess it really doesn’t matter which one it is, Sports Betting, Casino Gambling or Stock Trading, the only way to come out ahead is to minimize those losses because there will be losses.
Good Luck!
Thanks Larry, Good Luck to you as well.
Betting exchanges are very closely related to the Stock exchange. A friend of mine trades on the stock market frequently, he isn’t a day trader but makes 1-2 transactions/week. We always discuss just how similar the two are.
Unfortunately there is no avoiding the losses.

Ouch!
I decided for myself to not trade Basketball until the playoffs will start. I´m just at the beginning of trading and learning and Basketball is too risky for me atm.
Wishing you success
