Free Baseball Betting Tips: St. Louis Cardinals v. Houston Astros
The Houston Astros will look to complete a sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals tonight. The Astros scored 11 runs last night as they beat the National League Central leaders. Carlos Lee led the offence with a grand slam homer. Cardinals’ starter Todd Wellemeyer was tagged with the loss, getting the hook in the fifth inning. The Astros took Monday’s game 3-2.
Houston now sits two games back of St. Louis. If you remember last year Houston made a strong playoff run in the second half of the season. I big contributor to that run was tonight’s starting pitcher for the Astros, Roy Oswalt. Oswalt was 11-2 over his last 15 starts of 2008. Oswalt is looking great again this year. He is 3-0 over his past four starts, two of the four being complete games.
Tonight Oswalt will face Chris Carpenter. I really like the Astros to complete the sweep and come to within one game of the Cardinals. Expect Oswalt to be great tonight.
