The Mets will look to Johan Santana to get back into the win column tonight. Santana brings his 12-8 record into this contest as the Mets will host Albert Pujols and the Cardinals.
Santana has been great at CITI Field this season. He is 8-2 with a 1.69 ERA. His numbers are even better against the Cardinals. He has won both career starts against the red birds with his ERA at just 1.13.
The Cardinals will send Joel Pineiro to the hill. Pineiro is also in mid season form, winning three of his past four and allowing just three earned runs over those four starts.
The total is set low at 6.5 but I think there is a strong chance of a pitcher’s duel and the total to go under.

Santana has been so good for so many years. Its a shame the Mets are such a bad team backing him up even though they have great talent.
