MLB Betting: Braves vs. Mets

After Zach Greinke, Johan Santana may be the hottest pitcher going. He is 4-1 on the season with an ERA of just 0.91. In his last start he allowed just two hits over seven innings while shutting out the defending World Series Champions.

Tonight Santana is set to face the Braves and Derek Lowe. Lowe is having a solid season himself as he is also 4-1 after winning his past three starts. He looked less than sharp in his last start in Florida but got plenty of run support. The Braves have given him 25 runs in his past three starts. I think this is covering up the fact he hasn’t had the same command as he usually does. His sinking fastball is quite impressive but does move a lot sometimes making it hard to hit spots.

The Mets are riding hot right now as they have won seven straight. In those seven games they have averaged 6.1 runs per game. With the Mets bats finally coming alive and Santana coming off four quality starts at home, allowing just three runs over those four starts and going atleast six innings in each, I think the Mets keep on winning tonight.
