Thankful For Pujols’ Legs
This is the position I traded myself into in this game. The Cardinals blew a 3-0 lead thanks in large part to Skip Schumaker dropping a routine fly ball. This is a less than desirable situation with the game tied. I tried to lay the Cardinals for 2.10 before they came to bat in the bottom of the 7th. I couldn’t get any buyers. At the start of the eight inning I was still trying to lay the Cardinals with no luck. Alfonso Soriano led off the 8th with a double. At this point I was trying to lay the Cardinals for 2.80 and did for a bit. Luckily Soriano didn’t score.
The bottom of the eighth seen Carlos Marmol come in for the Cubs. I think Marmol has the best stuff in the majors so I’m still trying to lay the Cardinals for 1.90 at this point. Luckily for me Pujols singled up the middle, stole second and scored on Ryan Ludwick’s single. There have been plenty of times I’ve lost large amounts because I was too stubborn to trade for a loss. Today I was willing to trade for a loss but because of lack of liquidity in the market wasn’t able to do so but it worked out for me.
