Who Owns the Water?
Let’s see if we can get back on the winning track. I’m going to try going with another hot pitcher. Wednesday afternoon I like the Pittsburgh Pirates to beat the Florida Marlins. The Marlins have started hot, but so has Paul Maholm. Maholm is 2-0 so far this year in three starts, with an ERA below one.
When you look at the Marlins lineup you see Jorge Cantu who does hit lefties well. You also have Hanley Ramirez, Cody Ross and Dan Uggla who are not hitting southpaws this year. Dan Uggla usually tries to pull the ball over the left field fence so if a lefty can throw off speed on the outside part of the plate on him he can be easily retired. Pitchers have caught on to this. Uggla is 1-for-17 with 7 K’s against left handers this season.
Take the Pirates to win this Wednesday afternoon game.
